Media completely and utterly desecrated that flag. "The Confederate flag once represented a people. Now it represents something so much different. Slavery was the South's, America's original sin. Through equality and diversity, the South is repenting for that sin," wrote Hannah Anderson in her article about southern stereotypes (Stereotypes 1). Anyone who hangs a confederate flag anywhere is considered one of three things. Either they don't know that the Civil War has long been over (yet another stereotype that hasn't been gone over), they have a complete and total hatred against northerners, or they are rednecks.

Alright, first of all, thanks for all the responses. F-list, you are still welcome to fill out that questionnaire if you'd liiike~ but I also have another one, haha. ALSO THESE ARE NOT LIMITED TO THOSE IN THE UNITED STATES. I WANT WORLD WIDE VIEWS :P

This one deals with manners, pleasantries and word use and culture. :)

1. What do you say as a plural of "you guys"?
2. What region to you think that best matches?
3. Table manners...to you, what are they?
4. Etiquette guides, ridiculous or helpful?
(as a fun anecdote, I had one as a child! Mayhap this is why I'm such a crazy manners stickler)
5. What do you call elders, when addressing not by name?
6. Guys holding the door open for girls, giving up their seat on the bus, etc...is it polite or sexist?
7. What is your first impression definition of a Southern Belle/Southern Gentleman?
8. For shits and giggles, what are your thoughts on sear-sucker suits?
9. What are your thoughts on debutante balls and horse races you dress for (Carolina Cup, Kentucky Derby, Preakness)
10. The South is often called lazy...what are your thoughts on why this is so?
11. Sweet tea, best thing ever? :P
12. Do you know what grits are?
13. How do you tell distance?

And one more, but this one is optional as it goes with the other questions more than these:
14. Pride in a state, historical markers, and non-ignorant flying of a flag other than the United States flag...is this the South unable to let go of a war they lost, or do these states have every right to do this? Mostly, I want you to look at your state, tell me there are NO historical markers marking war anywhere and I'll call you a liar and whip out my Lies Across America book and beat you upside the head with it. :| No, not really, I just want your honest opinion about whether or not you think the South is truly stuck in the past.
